Day: July 15, 2012

Wet, wet and wet! We did have quite a bit of rain falling down from the heavens today on both of our trips. It at least counts in our favour in having one of the biggest boats in the industry. This allows us to keep our clients safe and dry in less favourable conditions, unfortunately everyday cannot be sunny! Nevertheless the sharks were still doing what they do best. Everyone was very happy with the shark sightings even though we did have some people feeling a bit green at times. On our first trip we had a young English rugby team join us. They were eagerly waiting to see whether these sharks were really bigger than Bakkies Botha or Os du Rant, and yes they were! Our second group had as much to look forward to and were lucky enough to have two more sharks than the previous group. We have been seeing the same two tagged sharks over the past few days and also the same larger sharks! Thanks sharkies…

What a day! We had two very successful trips today even though it was a bit chilly on the water yet again! Our first trip not only offered amazing shark sightings but bird sightings as well! We spotted a large Shy albatross on the horizon soaring through the sky in majestic fashion. Shortly afterwards we were lucky enough to spot a giant petrel as well. We had some people suffering from ‘motion distress’ on both our trips today, but I’m very happy that everyone had a great time nonetheless.  Our second trip played host to her majesty’s navy boys and their family members. A really fun loving bunch of guys. We had two satellite tagged sharks sightings on both trips and both “Betty” and “Nemo” made an appearance. In true impressive fashion the sharks were putting on a phenomenal aerial display with their energetic leaps after our decoy! It was great to see…
