The tale of Port and Starboard, two orcas, who patrol the South African coastline, and have been linked to predation on seven-gill sharks and great white sharks in 2017, inspired Richard Peirce’s latest book, ‘Orca’. The town of Gansbaai, known as the White Shark Capital of the World, and the characters involved in this event, will give readers an insight how nature can never be taken for granted. Richard also touches on the threats that sharks face from man, infinitely worse than that of two orcas.

Marine Dynamics and sister company Dyer Island Cruises have been awarded Blue Flag certification for the fourth consecutive year. Only ten boats in South Africa were awarded Blue Flag status and three of our vessels form part of this select group

It’s not all black and white for penguins – in fact, some rather colourful penguins have made their home in Gansbaai in the Western Cape of South Africa. 

Discovery Channel's Shark Week returns for the 31st time!  More than 20 hours of shark programming are being aired from July 28 through August 4 2019. Marine Dynamics senior white shark biologist, Alison Towner, will feature in  "Expedition Unknown: Megalodon" as well as in "Air Jaws Strikes Back".
