Conditions: Little to no swell with an increasing west wind.
The first trip of the day was an early one with our Sunday morning guests up and ready to hit the water at 7am! Once on anchor a Cape Fur seal quickly made its’ presence known, basking in the calm, early morning waters and chasing the smaller fish around the boat. Soon after the sharks arrived with the first Copper shark cruising into sight. These sharks came and went throughout the trip, making some great, up close and personal passes by the cage.
The second trip of the day saw an increase in the wind causing some choppy conditions but still a relatively nice afternoon on the sea. We had the Copper sharks around very quickly and our first divers made the brave plunge into the icy Atlantic water. We had nearly constant activity this trip with sharks in our view most of the time with a total of six different Coppers seen at one time from the boat!
Another week passed and we eagerly await the return of the Great Whites…
