Our morning started off with some rain and overcast, but that didn’t affect our shark sightings. After half an hour we spotted the first Great White shark for the day. It was exciting to see these creatures after a few no sea days. We had sharks passing all our four cages and investigation the bait line and seal decoy. In total we had four sharks with the biggest one estimated to be 4 meter. Towards the end of our trip a tagged shark showed up. Throughout the whole trip we had a stingray coming closer to the bai and decoy as well passing close infront of the cage.

On our second trip we have been waiting almost an hour to see these majestic predators. But once they were around the boat the activity was great. A 3.8 meter female was playing with our bait line for quite a while before she disappeared. On this trip we had four different Great White sharks too.At the begining we also had a glimpse of short tailed stingray coming closer to the bait.

The third and final trip of the day experienced some nice activity pretty much for the beginning of the trip with only a 20 minute wait for the first shark. It was “Mini Nemo” that turned up first with his usually surprise approach as he came vertically from deep and surprised us all! He did not turn up for the rest of the trip unfortunately but new sharks arrived soon after he left with one of our acoustically tagged juveniles from 2016 appearing briefly before disappearing. The rest of the sharks we saw for the trip were a little more “friendly” and keen to stick around with the most active shark of the trip going to a female just under 3.5m in length, very dark in dorsal surface colour and a few scars on her head and towards her tail. She cruised around for most of the trip slowly coming by and every few passes breaking the waters surface giving us a good look. We also saw some beautiful activity from the smallest sighting of the trip, an estimated 2.0m White shark that showed that big sharks are not the only impressive ones out there! A fantastic trip to end the day!
