The crew of Slashfin were back on the sea today after two days off due to sea conditions and whilst these conditions had lessened today we still had a chilly wind blowing and swells rolling through. The first trip of the day headed out and into the Shallows, once on anchor we waited and waited but unfortunately this morning we had no shark sightings.
The second trip of the day launched and we decided to try the Island after the shark’s no show in the morning. Whilst we had some great bird sightings, including Giant Petrels and two Albatrosses in the distance this trip unfortunately did not see any sharks either, even without any sharks we had a couple of divers brave the cold waters for a swim in the cage. Before heading home we made a pass by the Geyser Rock for a closer look at the Cape Fur seal colony.
A big thank you to all the guests that joined us today. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding of the joys of working with wildlife.
