Number of Sharks: 13

 

Conditions:  Choppy and windy, but got sunnier as the day progressed

 

Our trip today didn’t have the best conditions initially, with low visibility and some choppy waters, but the sharks more than made up for it, having 13 different sharks of varying sizes visit us throughout the trip! The largest shark was a big female who, while not being too active around the cage, made some fantastic passes around the boat and gave our guests some great views! The boat was also subjected to some less usual visitors today, a short tailed stingray made an appearance around our decoy during the trip, and a Giant Petrel was also around our boat, not something we see usually on our shark cage diving trips! All in all, an standard day for Slashfin, with sharks amazing us as always, and some abnormal visitors to the boat keeping things different as well! Just goes to show that there are always surprises when on the water with such amazing wildlife around…
