It appeared that the sharks had started their New Year celebrations early and were not interested in visiting us to begin with this morning. We waited 55 minutes for our first shark to turn up, however the wait was worth it when a large, 3.8m female we are familiar with arrived and took numerous passes by. Throughout the trip we had two other sharks turn up and a curious mature Cape Fur Seal. “Jacob” was the first shark to turn up for the second trip, arriving almost instantly and sticking around for the entirety of the trip, demonstrating exactly why people think he is a “rockstar”, with leaps and jumps in front of the cage. Our third and final trip of the day arrived in the dam to find that “Jacob” had stuck around and was still happy to give our guests a good look at the power and speed of a Great White! We were also graced with the glimpse of two other individuals, both of whom we have seen earlier in the day. A great way to finish 2014, best wishes from Marine Dynamics to friends and fish alike in the New Year…
