Location: Shark Alley
Water Temperature: 15.8’C
Depth: 11.2m
Visibility: 4.0m
Number of Sharks: 8
Conditions: Sunny with increasing winds and swell

We headed out today to mixed conditions, it was lovely and sunny but there was a noticeable wind and swell about. Once at our dive site we had close to a 30 minute wait for our first “big” fish visitor to come by! Most people wouldn’t describe a Great White as “shy” but that’s exactly how the sharks were acting today, keeping under the surface, teasing us with a little bit of dorsal fin here, a little bit of caudal fin there! The activity seen at our vessel changes day by day, these are wild animals and of course sightings are unpredictable, however, our divers onboard today understood this and took it in their stride and we had a fantastic day together! Our largest shark was a 3.7m male that came by late in the trip, this individual is one we have seen quite a bit around Slashfin recently, specifically when we are anchored in or around Shark Alley, and can be recognised by an old scar on the left side of his trunk. A slow but sensational day out on the water…
