Wow, Winter sure has arrived! We have had the past 5 days off the water due to weather conditions not suitable for Slashfin or our divers to be out in. However, today the conditions had improved so off we headed to the Alley. First off, we cruised past Geyser Rock to have a look at the Cape Fur seals and as we entered the Alley a shark was sighted, a great omen for the day! Our first shark of the day arrived not long after anchor and was only the start to an array of toothy visitors including the star of the trip, a 3.8m female, happy to slowly cruise by spy-hopping, investigating the boat and people above the water’s surface and also surprising us by coming up from underneath the cage! We weren’t the only things the sharks were curious to investigate today with a number of birds floating around the boat finding themselves the centre of attention with some very near misses! A great day spent back on the water…
