Depth: 14.5m
Visibility: 7+m
Number of Sharks: 14
Conditions: Calm

Conditions were absolutely beautiful to be out on the water this morning with no swell, only a light breeze and crystal clear waters. Anchored at Geldsteen at a depth of 14.5m, we were capable of seeing right down to the rocky bottom, allowing the divers in the cage to take full advantage of the marine life swimming around them. The sharks were staying just below the surface of the water throughout the majority of the trip, showing off their true colours as the graceful, majestic creatures they are. We had a nice size range, varying from 2.5m up to 4.2m; the largest shark of the day being a female, known even from previous years, nicknamed “Double Dot” for the two large freckles on her dorsal.  Even with only one nice pass, “Double Dot” left a big impression…

If you are looking to get up close and personal with the great white shark then Cage Diving in South Africa, and more specifically with Marine Dynamics, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you won’t want to miss.
