We had a beautiful day out on the water as the wind calmed down this afternoon, the sun was shining bright and only a slight swell was rolling through. It only took minutes for our first shark to turn up, swimming around the cage even before everyone had their wetsuits on! We started at the smaller end of the size scale, with a shark roughly 2.7m in length. The next shark to turn up, being around the 3m mark, was one who stayed with us through to the end of the trip; he was easy to identify due to a hook in the corner on the left hand side of his mouth. Most of the jumpy activity came from our two largest sharks of the day, at 3.8m and 4.1m, making those vertical ascents on the decoy and providing a fantastic grand finale with a half breach on the bait line. It’s always impressive when the larger sharks show off their talents…
