Trip 1
We launched to a beautiful morning with very low swell.  Fortunately, the sharks knew what a nice group of people we had on board and they didn’t make us wait long at all.  We had consistent action throughout the morning.  Several large stingrays also decided they wanted in on the fun and made several attempts on the bait line.  Tagged shark “Paisley” was the first shark to show up.  It was great for our clients to see our science at work.  Finally, on our way back to the harbour we were treated to a special treat…..humpback dolphins.  Several were happily playing in the surf.  What a great way to end the morning.

Trip 2
Once again, we didn’t have to wait long at all for the sharks to arrive.  The wind had picked up quite a bit from the morning trip, but clearly the sharks were not deterred.  They were actually quite active around the boat.  The best “player” was a female shark with the top of her dorsal fin rolled over just a bit.  She made numerous passes on the boat and even jumped out at the decoy on several occasions.  The short-tailed stingrays continued to make their presence known as well.  A couple of them were quite large giving our cage divers the opportunity to see several different animals underwater.
