Trip 1
A stunning morning greeted our team and guests this morning with a slight wind that fortunately decreased as the day went on. Within minutes of anchoring we had one of our adopted and named sharks show up, “Sarko” a juvenile female that is known to be very active with a liking for our seal decoy! Moments later a female much larger than “Sarko” appeared, one that had been seen yesterday as well. To finish the trip off a very pale coloured White shark was seen, estimated at 3.4m in length, this trip saw three sharks of varying sizes.
trip 2
The second trip of the day got off to a fantastic start with a shark on arrival, this was the large female seen on the previous trip. This group was also lucky enough to see two of our recently tagged sharks and two of our recently adopted and named sharks with both “Mulfur” and “3Bird” making appearances.
Trip 3
The third and final trip of the day repeated the earlier trips success with sharks around only moments after arrival back on anchor. This trip was interesting in that whislt we saw many of the same sharks from the previous trips we also saw a few new sightings, all males! One of these males was none other than “Alvin” a large male approximately 3.8m in length that we have known well since 2014 when he received an extensive injury to the leading edge of the dorsal fin. Unfortunately we only see “Alvin” once a year, but we were extremely happy to see that this injury has healed so well that it is barely noticable with just a small indent. Welcome back “Alvin”, all onboard enjoyed his curious behaviour around the seal decoy.
