A beautiful day to be out on the water, we hoped we would repeat Saturday’s success after the 23 day period of no shark sightings. Things started to look bleak as we passed 3 hours without a shark and just as we thought we would have to head back to land without a sighting one was spotted cruising on the surface, making it’s way closer and closer. This turned out to be a 3.0m female White shark that displayed some beautiful activity around the boat and stuck with us the rest of our trip allowing our guests a stunning view of her. A fantastic sighting rewarded after the amazing patience of our guests on board.
The second trip of the day was also lucky to see one shark around the boat. Before the female arrived at our vessel Slashfin we had to wait a little while, but a Cape Fur seal entertained us well. The seal tried to sneak up to the bait to get some of the fish heads. We also spotted a sunfish close by, while everyone tried to have look at these mysterious creatures a shark arrive. This was the same female from the first trip, identifiable through the very distinct trailing edge to the dorsal fin and a white scar on the right side of said fin. After packing up we decided to make a pass at the Cape Fur seals and show everyone the famous Shark Alley.
