As we left into the gloom this morning, we were ready to get sharky! The sun soon started to burn away the clouds this morning, and on cue our copper sharks turned up. We had 3 individual copper sharks playing around Slashfin on our first trip, and they were giving our cage divers some very close passes, and the excitement was high! Next up was the short tail stingray that we haven’t seen for about a week now. This stingray stuck around for a good portion of the trip and checked out our guests in the cage nicely! Although we had no white sharks this morning, spirits were still high that we’d seen the copper sharks and everyone had a lot of fun in the cage. On the way back to the harbour we also glided past a lone Southern Right Whale spyhopping in the shallow areas! So a wildlife packed trip!
On our second trip we didn’t have to wait too long for our copper sharks to join us again, and our divers got right in the cage at the opportunity to get face to face with these stunning sharks! These guys have fantastic eyes, so it is a real treat to get so close to them in the cage. Lots of happy cage divers later, we made our way back to the harbour to get some nice warm soup after a bit of a chilly afternoon on the water.
