An early wake up call for divers this morning with our first boat launching out of Kleinbaai Harbour at 7am. It is great then when our divers make the effort to wake up so early that our sharks are ready to go when we arrive and this is exactly what happened this morning with a shark spotted only 5 minutes after arriving! This first shark was only one of many on this trip including “Caroline” and “Scarlett” who showed up a little later on. This trip also saw a curious Short-tailed Stingray come up to the surface for a look! The second trip of the day was an exclusive for a party of 6 from the United States visiting South Africa to celebrate one of the group’s birthdays! The star of this trip was the boats most frequent visitor, “Caroline”, a juvenile female that we have been seeing once a day since she was first spotted back at the end of September. We also had a surprise attempt on the bait line by a large male that hurttled in for a half breach and then disappeared just as quickly as he came! The third and final trip of the day saw sharks around very quickly after we arrived back into the area including “Scarlett” back for a visit from the first trip, and playing the role of the most active shark around the boat this afternoon! A fantastic day out on the sea…
