It looked to be a lovely day out on the water today as we launched from Kleinbaai this morning with the sun shining! Once anchored and the suits were handed out we only had moments to wait for the first shark to show itself, with a juvenile coming to the surface, this same shark stuck around for the entire trip. Close to 30 minutes after this first shark arrived we had “Mini Nemo” a juvenile male with a stunted right pectoral fin come on by, then out of nowhere a 4.0m female breached on the decoy, the beginning of some amazing shark activity. We next had an approximately 3.9m female with some parasites on her snout and head turn up and prove to be a crowd pleaser before “Little Lumpy” came in and showed everyone what this species is capable of in terms of speed and agility! We yet again saw the juvenile male with the possible propeller injury to the dorsal fin and have decided to name this animal as we hope to monitor the healing of this injury and have come up with the name “Mark”, we hope to see more of this shark and hopefully sometime in the future a fully healed wound. A beautiful morning to spend out on the water with the White sharks…
