We were a little apprehensive this morning after the slow activity we experienced yesterday, however within 20 minutes of anchoring we had a lovely 4.0m female burst out of the water and grab the decoy…what a start to the day! The visibility had cleared up a little from yesterday however we still had a challenge on our hands spotting the sharks as they appeared to be using the murky waters as cover and kept deep or off in the distance, yet we still had some great views especially towards the end of the trip when we had a new arrival of a large male approximately 4.2m in length and our large female from earlier turn up at the same time and kept everyone captivated as they provided pass after pass in front of us. Before turning back to the harbour we headed out to the Island to see the seals, on the way there we spotted a lone Bottlenose Dolphin. The closer this dolphin came to us the more we realised something was not quite right, it happened to be that there was a large injury to the top of this animal, possibly a bite from a marine predator! The second trip of the day saw a little longer wait for the sharks to arrive yet when they did it was none other than our large female from this morning! Whilst she didn’t stick around for long she was soon replaced by a smaller yet more active and curious Great White. The activity for this trip was similar to the first with some slow periods but when the sharks came closer it was truly awe-inspiring with some great passes in front of the cage and also some very nice surface action! Welcome back today to Mark, Lisa, Maria, Eadaoin and Ciara who joined us yesterday morning and again today, Thank you for your patience yesterday and we hope you enjoyed your day with us today! A Happy 40th Birthday to Matthew for tomorrow, who, with his partner Sharon, has travelled to South Africa to celebrate his birthday in a “jawsome” way…
