Trip 1
What a difference one day makes! Yesterday saw Slashfin off the water due to some increased weather conditions with high swell and wind coming through today the bay was peaceful with a small swell and very slight wind. The conditions of yesterday did however affect our temperature and visibility leading to some chilly and murky waters, yet the main factor of today, the sharks, were fantastic. This morning’s trip saw a number of White sharks approaching the boat, inlcuding two we know very well with both “Mini Rosie” and “Mini Nemo” coming by and showing that whilst they were nicknamed a couple of years ago they are no longer so mini. We also had an new female for this season show up and proceed to circle the boat both close and far for much of the trip.

Trip 2
The second trip of the day headed out and had their first shark sighting within moments of arriving back on anchor. This was a 3.0m White shark that was the only shark sighting for the first 40 minutes before “Mini Rosie” a 3.5m female that was seen on the previous trip cam back. This trip then saw another juvenile and two very big animals approaching the 4.0m length.

Trip 3
The third trip of the day was of to a fantastic start with a big dark shadow lurking near by as we arrived back at the cage. The activity was nearly constant for this trip with a shark in sight most of the afternoon. We had two juveniles coming and going from sight and some of those impressively large White sharks seen on the second trip. “Mini Nemo” joined us for the start and end of the trip causing a stir with some awe-inspiring attempts on the lines earning him the title of most active shark of the trip!
