An early morning launch saw us heading out as first boat into a bay blanketed by mists. This mist stuck around in the Shallows for most of the morning yet of course did not have any effect on our White shark activity that turned out to be fantastic. We had our first sighting of the day quickly with a juvenile female appearing, one we have seen before, sporting a tear in the top of the dorsal fin towards the trailing edge. Soon after more sharks appeared including the feisty juvenile female we first encountered yesterday with a healing wound on the left side of her trunk and a hook in the right side of her jaw as well as Marine Dynamics well known and Iconic White sharks “Mini Nemo” with his shortened pectoral fin. Most of our sharks this morning were juveniles, however we did have a large female appear at the start of the trip, a shark approximately 4.0m in length, she passed by a few times throughout the morning. Due to low tide we made our way back to Gansbaai instead of Kleinbaai habour where our second group would launch from.

After leaving the harbour we headed around Danger Point straight to our dive site. On the way we encountered various seabirds and a spout of a Brydes whale. We didn’t have to wait for long to see our first Great White shark to arrive after we anchored. The shark activity was good. During the duration of this trip we sighted five different seabird species.
