With six white sharks in total for our morning trip we were fully rewarded for our early start! The morning kicked off with Sarko coming to join us and giving us some fabulous passes. Next up was ‘Gqibigame’ who’s been named by our crew, because she’s been giving us some fantastic action over the last week. She’s a Sarko lookalike with similar scarring on her flank, but she’s slightly bigger at 3m. Scarlett wasn’t giving it up this morning, with a brief pass, but next we had a very pale female at around 2.8m who gave our cage divers some excellent viewing underwater. Towards the end of our trip we had a small 2m female who was very graceful in the water, finishing up with the 4m female who we saw yesterday with the pectoral fin that’s bent upwards. As if this wasn’t enough we had plenty of copper sharks and short tail stingrays!
On our second trip we headed out into some warm spring sunshine, and it wasn’t long until our white sharks were back! This trip we had Sarko, Gqibigame and the small pale female. With the sunshine gently toasting us we had wonderful viewing from the boat as well as in the cage. Again the copper sharks were also in a playful mood for this second trip giving our guests some excellent photo opportunities.
For our third trip today, we were thoroughly wowed from the get go. Having just gotten suited up and discussing the sharks, the large 4m female with the bent pectoral came out of nowhere and announced herself to the group. With some great vertical ascents she was showing us all the good stuff. With plenty more action from the copper sharks as well this afternoon it was a thoroughly sharky day!
