The weather did not look promising today with clouds constantly present and a chill in the air however this had no effect on the sharks and we had a fantastic day out in the bay! It took a little while for the sharks to turn up this morning, with just under an hour wait, however soon enough they did and they did not stop all trip! We had a number of small juvenile females before a 4.0m male turned up, the real action though started when the large female known as “Ingrid” turned up and stuck around for the rest of the trip, showing off with leaps and snapping here and there! The action on the afternoon trip started just after we arrived with “Rosie”, one of our acoustically tagged females measuring in at 3.8m came gliding into view! A great start to the trip. “Rosie” stuck around for the entirety of the trip yet we also had some other visitors including a 1.8m juvenile, which is the smallest we have seen this year and of course “Ingrid” came back for a look. Both “Rosie” and “Ingrid”, our two large and active females dominated this trip with one or the other within sight at mot times. The visibility today had cleared up and was at its best it has been in over a week with our divers able to see the sharks quite nicely, however the sharks today had no issues with coming in nice and close, an added bonus that they could see them so well! A truly “fintastic” day out with the Great Whites…
