We headed out in super calm conditions this morning, and geared up to get ready for the sharks to show up. We chatted about all things shark as we waited this morning. We had brief sightings of our copper sharks this morning, and as the wind picked up we had a fun cage diving experience! We also had white chinned petrels gliding around in the skies which was nice to see, as well as a large group of cape cormorants flying close by Slashfin. Unfortunately the white sharks didn’t come up to the boat today, but we did have some good sightings of the copper sharks. On the way back to the harbour, we encountered two separate groups of southern right whales. A group of 2 and then closer to the harbour a mother calf pair and two other individuals. We had some great tail slapping and was excellent to see these gentle giants chilling in the shallows!
