Brilliant sunshine and plenty of sharks. What more could we ask for? How about a couple of short-tailed stingrays! Our first trip was a great trip. We were blessed with the presence of 9 beautiful great white sharks. “Sarko,” “Scarlett,” “3-Bird,” and “Kayleigh” came by to see our divers today. “Kayleigh” is one of our recently tagged sharks and she was also accompanied by another shark that we recently tagged. This tags are placed just beneath the dorsal fin and help us to learn the sharks movement patterns and behaviors. Our second trip was lucky enough to be able to see these tags as well as “Kayleigh” and the un-named tagged shark returned. “Scarlett” and “Sarko” also returned to the boat. “Scarlett was not her usual self, and stayed primarily below the surface, only coming up a few times to check spy on all of us on board. We also had a shark that we’ve seen before with a bent pectoral fin. Another great trip with 7 sharks! Our last trip was also blessed with 7 sharks. Lucky number! “Scarlett” returned and again was not her usual self. Fortunately “A Shark Has No Name” and “Meredith” arrived, stealing the show with several breaches. We were also visited by a short-tailed stingray who consistently played with the seal decoy. These are very curious animals, just like their cousins the sharks. It’s always a great day when we are graced with the beauty of several beautiful sharks and rays!
