“Staff was wonderful and very efficient! Amazing to see these beautiful animals so close in person.” – Megan & Lindsey

“Amazing! Staff really great and helpful and informative, and we saw lots of sharks!” –  Martina & Karl

Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 14.5 C
Depth: 11.3m
Visibility:  1m
Number of Sharks: 7 on the first trip and 5 on the second.
Conditions:  Sunny with a bit of a swell pushing through.

The first trip was really great with a total of 7 different White Sharks around the boat. Our first arrival was Andreas, the 4m Jet black male that’s been a little curious about our operation for the last week or so. Within minutes, we had our second shark around and it really just better as the trip progressed. The 3rd shark was a gigantic female we estimated to be around 4.5m in length (the same length as the cage).

She stuck around the boat for the duration of the trip, disappearing for around 20 minutes at a time before propelling herself out the water at lightning speed after both the decoy and the bait. Next up, we had another firm favourite when Clarence a 3.5m male made his debut. Clarence was very active today going after the decoy and the bait, his wonky dorsal fin not holding him back in the least.

We also had a couple of smaller animals around the length of 2.5m although the big guys were the ones who really made us smile.

The second trip were lucky to have a shark at the cage as they arrived. It was a really enjoyable trip with 5 sharks around the boat. The smallest shark of the trip was a 2.5m animal with the largest being Andreas. We also had a couple of young Marine Biologists on board, with Judy and Phoebe helping Ali out with some of our daily tasks on our beautiful boat Slashfin.
