We were so fortunate to be joined by a group of Nebraskans today. Given that Nebraska is my home state, it was such an unexpected treat to have an entire boat full of Huskers. Just like a gameday at home, we watched all the action and cheered when the sharks came up close to say hello. The group must have brought along some good luck as well, because with 20 different sharks throughout the trip we had almost non-stop action. Several sharks were well known to us including “Paul” who we acoustically tagged in May 2013. I remember him being a particularly difficult shark to track as he liked to speed off in different directions with no warning. Nice to see him once again frequenting the bay. Hopefully all the activity signals that our winter sharks are going to be quite active in the coming months. Thanks again to our wonderful group for bringing Nebraska hospitality to South Africa. GO BIG RED!!
