Conditions: Clear skies and little swell with an increasing wind causing some choppy conditions.
Trip 1
It appears the Summer season is in full swing with the conditions on the water the last few weeks bring fantastic. The underwater conditions and shark activity has followed in the Summer tradition with the visibility usually at it’s lowest during this time of the year due to the sediment in the water as well as an increase in algae futhermore our shark activity is known to be slower and numbers lower during this season yet after only a 40 minute wait the first tripsaw their first White shark. This shark did not stick around lone however after this one came “Sarko” the feisty little female we have become acquainted with over the last few months. She was the most active of the trip and showed our guests that even if it is a small shark it is still a Great White shark! To finish off the morning the largest shark of the trip showed up measuring in at approximately 3.3m in length.
Trip 2
The second trip of the day had a similar wait for the sharks to appear but once they did it was a fantastic trip with both “Mini Nemo”, a male with it’s right pectoral fin stunted and “Mini Rosie”, a femal with very distinctive white pigmentation on the dorsal fin, turning up and a large female, the largest of the entire day, who really kept the Marine Dynamics crew on their toes as she made surprise approaches on both the bait and decoy lines.
Trip 3
The third and final trip of the day launched for an exclusive group of family friends from all over the World including Sweden and South Africa. A shark was sighted on arrival as we approached the cage yet once the divers were in the water the activity slowed down with a shark appearing out of the murky waters every now and again. “Mini Nemo” again made an appearance but it wasn’t until “Mini Rosie” returned towards the end of the trip that things started to get exciting and we had some nice close views of this beautiful White shark.
