The sun was blazing in the sky as Slashfin headed out to our dive site in the Shallows. The cage was quickly put in the water. Luckily the Copper sharks arrived before our divers got in their wetsuits. Our divers quickly jumped into the cage and were thrilled by the amazing activity of the sharks. Soon a short-tailed stingray came by, and both species entertained our divers for the duration of the trip. We soon headed back and our guests enjoyed some amazing soup and homemade bread.
For the second trip we once again headed back to our dive site. Once there our guests were quickly treated by the Copper sharks and Short-tailed stingray. The Copper sharks remained incredibly active, and the stingray came around for several passes. After a fantastic dive, we quickly showed our guests the birds of Dyer Island and the Cape Fur Seals at Geyser Rock. Afterwards we slowly made our way back to shore, parting with our guests who continued on with their travels around South Africa.
For our final trip of the day we had a big group of students travelling around the world by ship, so they were more than comfortable on Slashfin today. This afternoon the sun continued to pull through coupled with some lovely copper shark activity. We had sharks within moments and our first group of divers headed into the water to get face to face with these super slick sharks. Activity was fairly constant through the trip allowing all our divers to get a great view of the sharks both underwater and on board our lovely top deck. With some very happy divers we got our cage secured on the back of the boat and headed back to the harbour with a glorious sunset approaching.
