“Great experience – beautifull wildlife!” – Eric

“Great staff and great experience” – Summer & Ari

“So fun!” – William

Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 13.3 C
Depth: 9.5
Visibility: 0.5m
Number of Sharks: 1 & a glimpse of another
Conditions: flat seas, no wind

Today we had only 1 trip scheduled due to a predicted increase in wind later in the day.  To be honest, it was a bit of a struggle today.  The water in the bay is still very murky from the red tide that we have encountered the past few days.  The good news is that the oxygen levels have remained steady even with the algae blooms. After 3 different anchor positions we were finally treated to our first great white sighting.  Although the visibility was poor you could clearly make out several very distinguishing marks on this shark.  It is a new shark to our boat this season.  It seemed a bit shy and spent most of its time towards the back of the boat.  Another shark made a super quick appearance and then just as quickly disappeared.  As the crew was lifting the cage back on the boat another juvenile shark which has recently been tagged came up to the surface for a quick look.  Thank you to our wonderful clients, many of whom were celebrating special occasions with us.  May you all enjoy your honeymoons and “big” birthdays!

Just to highlight what a stunning area this is, I’ve also included a picture of tonight’s sunset – Enjoy!
