It was great to be back on sea after three days off, we hoped the White sharks felt the same way. Due to tide issues Slashfin launched a little later from Gansbaai harbour this morning and made its’ way around Danger Point and onto anchor in the Shallows. Not too much of a wait with a White shark appearing approximately 45 minutes after we did. This was a smaller female, one that on closer examination could be identified as one of our sponsored sharks named ‘Sarko’. We have not seen this shark since the start of the year so are very pleased to have her back in the area. We had another small female this morning, one seen over the recent weeks and another larger female that, like the first shark was a new sighting in the bay this season. This shark turned out to be another of our sponsored animals, ‘Taryn-it-up’. Fantastic to see some of our well-known animals making their way back to us.
The second trip of the day launched and we too experience the same luck as our first trip with only minimal waiting time for a shark to be seen. This trips’ shark sighting was yet again ‘Sarko’, returning from this morning. Not only did we have a White shark around the boat this afternoon we also had a Bronze Whaler or Copper shark make a visit and come nice and close to give our guests a good look.
A great day back out on the water for the crew and guests on board Slashfin.
