White Shark Wednesday anyone?! We headed out to the shallows this morning in hope of spotting ourselves a White Shark. Within minutes of dropping the cage we had copper sharks around the boat, and only twenty minutes into this trip we had a new male White Shark around Slashfin. At around 2.8m he was a nice shark to watch this morning, full of energy on a pretty grim Wednesday morning, but definitely worth the early wake up call! We were also treated to a short tailed stingray as well, so 3 different species of elasmobranch on one trip was not bad by any stretch.

Our second trip was slightly wetter, so we dressed into our wetsuits on land and headed down to the harbour. It paid off since we had the same male cruising around the cage upon our return. So we got our divers straight into the cage, and were ready to witness some spectacular shark action. Not only did we have this male, but the copper sharks were in a bit of a frenzy on this trip with 5 individuals surrounding the boat at one time, with the white shark in the background. These two species get on pretty well together! The stingray came up and joined us again for this trip too! 3 out of 3 again!

For our final trip today, we geared up on land again to avoid the rain, and headed out. We got on the anchor and the copper sharks were eager to flaunt what they had to our cage divers, so we got some great photo opportunities both in the cage and on the boat this afternoon. We were waiting for our white shark to come join us again, but the copper sharks provided plenty of interesting action for us on this trip. It took a while but our white shark turned up towards the end of the trip and we marvelled in his presence! To finish off the day, as the anchor was being pulled up a Southern Right whale passed close by the boat.
