We were off to a banger this morning with a white shark and two coppers around the cage straight away! The white shark was the 2.7m male with the scratched up snout, also very pale in colour. He’s been fairly shy over the previous few days, but today he stuck around for a couple of really nice passes. With the copper sharks also around, there was a bit of a frenzy around Slashfin first thing this morning. While this turned out to be his only activity of the trip, we were super lucky to have seen him this morning, and everyone was amped that the copper sharks gave us plenty of activity too. With some excellent close up action to the cage the coppers gave us plenty to be excited about. We also had a cheeky cape fur seal blitzing around the boat too! Towards the end of the trip, we had a flurry of cape cormorants engulf us which was a beautiful sight to see.
For our second trip, the copper sharks were in full force again with several different individuals checking out our keen cage divers! The eye to eye moments never cease to amaxe people, and the fact the come so close to the cage is awesome for our divers. They truly had a wonderful time in the water, and got to see a great deal of sharky action! Although no white shark the copper sharks made up for the shy guys not checking us out!
The third and final trip saw us hit copper again straight away! We had atleast 10 different individuals on this trip with some fantastic and constant activity. Towards the end of the trip we also had a white shark pop up and say hello to out cage divers as well, this was the juvenile male we know as ‘Fortnight’ and whilst he did not stick around for long it was great to see a White shark. A marvellous day of adventures once again.
