The start of a new week, and we were all eager to get sharky this morning. We went to the shallows and geared up to get in the cage as soon as we were on the anchor as we had copper sharks around us immediately. Once again these sharks gave our divers some fantastic up close action this morning. With great visibility today as well we were treated to excellent viewing conditions. If that wasn’t enough we also had a southern right whale glide 20m behind us at one point cruising in the shallows! What a treat. With at least 7 different copper sharks today there was plenty of action to go round on this trip.
For our second trip we encountered another southern right on the way to our dive site, which was superb. Once on anchor the copper sharks rocked up and were ready to show off their stuff! With our divers eager to get in the cage we spent a wonderful afternoon in the sunshine with these stunning sharks! We put one of our BRUVs down today, these are Baited Remote Underwater Video systems that allow us to see what is happening at the bottom of the water column. We were interested to see what might be lurky down deep and see if we could pick up on any of the sharks.
