After 4 days of being stuck on land, we were really anxious to see if the storm that had come through stirred up the waters a bit and brought the sharks back to our bay. We launched from Kleinbaai harbour and headed out towards the shallows. We patiently waited, and waited. Someone spotted a jellyfish floating by, but no shark. We waited and waited and waited some more, hoping our luck would change today. Well….. Our patience paid off!! After 2 hours of being anchored, a shark was spotted by one of our clients at the front of the boat. It swam towards the back then disappeared. You could feel the anticipation rise as everyone watched all around the boat to see where it had gone. Suddenly, the 3 meter male lunged out of the water, making several attempts at the bait and decoy line. He didn’t stay too long, leaving after about 20 minutes, but we were so happy to see one of our beautiful white sharks again and so happy that everyone on board got to see him as well.

The second trip launched, with all including the crew excited to see the White shark again, however it appeared that this male Great White was a one trip wonder today and did not turn up for the afternoon launch. Our guests were patient, waiting a sharks arrival, and even without a few of those on board took the plunge into the water with a quick dip in the cage and some seal noises under water to try and entice a shark in. Before heading back to land we  made the short trip out to the Islands and Shark Alley to have a look at the Cape Fur seal colony.
