One in about every 400 white sharks we see in Gansbaai has the character of the first shark we saw today. She was an extremely large (close to 5m) female with one of the most relaxed attitudes we have ever observed! We call these character sharks ‘players’ (informally!) they will circle the boat time and time again gently lifting their heads out of the water almost as if they are enjoying the interaction more so than investigating the bait! It was a true privilege for our guests to dive with this truly epic shark. On trip two Helen Pattulllo logged 5 sharks with great diving activity including our ‘Little Roundy’ (I think this small shark quite likes Helen!). On trip 3 the wind picked up from the north west making conditions choppy however we still saw 4 very nice sharks and managed to dive everyone. A great day all in all.
