We were very fortunate today to have a minimal wait time for the arrival of our first shark. The activity started off with a bang, having a gracious 4.0m female shark show up as our first visitor! This large female is one who has been coming around for the last few days and is responsible for a lot of the beautiful slow motion passes and tester bumps on the decoy. Our marine biologist, Alison Towner, recorded five different sharks on the second trip, including “Little Roundy” who was giving some nice jumps in front of the cage. The clients on both our second and third trips were treated to a rare sighting of the Bronze Whaler shark (Carcharhinus brachyurus) coming up for the bait line. This is the first time we’ve seen this species since our first ever sighting of the Bronze Whalers around our boat in mid-November. The sightings may be contributed to the warmer waters we’ve been having again, but they’re always a welcome sight! Never know what to expect when you’re out with Marine Dynamics…
