WOW!!! What an absolute beauty of a day. We had the best conditions we have seen in some time with the sun keeping us warm all day and the water calm and clear. The first trip saw a wait of approximately an hour and a half before spotting their first shark, however the wait proved worth it as 6 more active sharks followed after. The afternoon trip of the day followed with the same beautiful conditions and some amazing shark activity. We had a very large female, approximately 4.2m in length surface only five minutes after anchoring and she spent the afternoon with us slowly circling around. The good thing about such great conditions is that no matter how deep the shark may be we were still able to see it. We were also lucky enough to have a range of sizes with some juveniles, sub-adults and matured adults, it is always amazing to see the size variation between this species life stages! Towards the end of our trip some dolphins were spotted frolicking closer towards the shore so once finished we turned in and headed in their direction and found a Humpack mother and calf pair soon to be joined by another adult pair and also a large Great White Shark intent on investigating the dolphins a little closer! To make the day even more exciting, as we veered away from the dolphins to head back to the harbour we came across two Southern Right Whales relaxing in the shallows. Sharks, whales and dolphins, oh my, today truly showcased the beauty of what this area has to offer…
