After a slow start this afternoon, the day definitely picked up with lots of up close encounters and sharks of all sizes! The trip seemed to be dominated by the large females in the bay right now, including 3.7m “Rosi” and the 3.8m female with a small bite out her right pectoral fin, who was lunging continuously for the bait line. Towards the end of the trip we had a 4.1m female with a prominent groove in her dorsal fin turn up and give us lots of toothy action as she appeared from the deep. With sharks these sizes it wasn’t a problem that the visibility has decreased once again, not to mention how close the sharks were coming to the cage! Let’s hope these active large females stick around a while for us…
