Due to the low tides this morning we launched from Gansbaai Harbour today and headed around Danger Point to our dive site at the back of Geyser Rock. The first trip of the day saw overcast skies and a small amount of rain, however the Great White Shark is not easily deterred by a bit of rain and it cleared later on in the day! The first shark of the day turned up after only a 10 minute wait after anchor and was a nicely sized individual around 3.5m. We also had the pleasure of a visit from a small female known as “Little Lumpy” showing up! Our largest shark of the day was spotted on this morning’s trip, a shark measuring in at approximately 4.3m was seen towards the end of our trip. The rain and clouds had cleared for our second trip of the day and we enjoyed an array of active sharks including our juvenile shark with the bent dorsal fin and our large male shark with the large rounded notch out of its dorsal fin. We also saw two Southern Right Whales come by as we were anchored, a very nice way to end the trip! A swell day out on the sea…
